The Institute for Storycraft and Information Gathering is a Boston, MA-area nonprofit dedicated to advancing education in journalism, nonfiction storytelling, and media literacy.
Position Overview
We are seeking a creative and organized Audience Engagement Manager to develop and maintain our organization's digital presence and connect with our community. This remote, independent contractor role focuses on creating compelling content on LinkedIn and Instagram, producing our monthly newsletter, and managing content to advance our mission.
Key Responsibilities​

Social Media Management:

Create and publish engaging bi-weekly LinkedIn and Instagram posts highlighting educational initiatives and impact

Share thought leadership content from our team and community

Promote upcoming events and organizational news

Drive engagement with our target audience

Newsletter Production:

Edit and produce monthly newsletter

Curate content and stories for newsletter distribution

Manage subscriber list and engagement metrics

Content Asset Management:

Advise on organizing social media assets

Track content performance metrics

Create and maintain content calendar

Administrative Support:
-
Assist with audience-related research
-
Assist with developing direct email promotions

Qualifications
Candidates do not need to fulfill all criteria to be considered.

Minimum of 1-2 years experience managing professional social media accounts. Experience with media, nonprofit, and/or education accounts is highly desirable​​

Strong writing and editing skills

Excellent organizational and time management abilities

Experience with video editing is highly desirable
Hours and Compensation
10-15 hours/month
Hourly rate: $25-35/hour, commensurate with experience
